Shenanigans

Last night we bathed the girls, put them to bed, and then Jeremy left to go play basketball at the church.  Shortly after he left, Joey came downstairs needing to go to the bathroom.  So I took her to the bathroom and sent her upstairs.  Normally the girls are VERY good about bedtime.  We read to them, tuck them in, say prayers, close the door, and then they go right to sleep.  Well, about 2 hours after Joey had gone to the bathroom and I sent her back up I heard a door close upstairs.  I just thought Joey must not have closed their door all the way and when the air came on it pulled it closed.  But then I heard it again, and then again.  So then I thought Joey must have woken up again.  So I went to the stairs, and sure enough, there she was.  I picked her up to carry her back to bed, but then I realized I heard talking, and it was getting louder as I got closer to their room.  I opened the door and what did I find?  Shelby watching cartoons on the iPad!!!  Joey had stolen it on her way back from the bathroom and they had been watching it for 2 hours!  Little hooligans!! 

I couldn't help but laugh as I thought about all the things my sisters and I would do at bedtime when we were their age.  Tag, Hide and Go Seek (I fell off the top bunk once, requiring stitches in my head), playing future husbands (I always chose either Mel Gibson or Patrick Swayze).  One time my dad told us we "better not get out of bed ONE MORE TIME", so my sister asked what we were supposed to do if we had to go to the bathroom and he sarcastically replied to use the garbage can.  So that's what she did.
