Hello, Goodbye

The past few weeks have been sooo busy!  Phil and Julie came into town last week and it was so good to see them.  We went to Taste of Addison last Saturday night with them.  It was the first time we've gone since we moved here, and it was great.  We will go back next year for sure.  The rest of the time they were here kind of stunk because Shelby got sick with a fever of 103 for 5 days, and Lucy had 5 vaccinations and had a fever for 2 days.  But it was great to see them and we can't wait til we can get together again.  (Not sure why these pictures are all weird and stretched- they are all from my phone.)

I ended up taking Shelby to the ER on Thursday (Jeremy was out of town, so I had all three girls with me) because she started complaining that her lower right abdomen was hurting.  Of course, with something like that you don't really want to mess around, so I had to take her in.  They couldn't explain the fever, but did do an ultrasound and told us that basically she needed to use the bathroom.  Awesome.  So glad we paid for a trip to the ER for that news.

Friday night we went to a welcome home party for a guy in our ward that had just returned from Afghanistan.  There was a great turnout and I hope Mike saw how much we all appreciate his service.

Then on Saturday morning I was able to attend the temple with two great YW from our ward.  They are sisters and are both serving missions- one in Alaska and one in Brazil.  It was so neat to be able to go to the temple with them at the same time.  Again, we had great ward representation and I hope these girls know how much we love and support them!  That night I went to Briana's farewell (she leaves first).  The girls' younger sister is our go-to babysitter, so she and I schemed and surprised Briana with a cake.  It was so fun spending some one-on-one time with Kendal and it to see how excited she was to share it with Briana.

Today was another fun day.  We spent almost all day at the beach (not the beach beach, just at the lake) with a bunch of friends from church.  The girls had so much fun swimming, building sand castles, and digging holes.  Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, it IS possible to get sunburned even if you are sitting under a canopy and it is cloudy outside.  Yeah, I feel like a TERRIBLE mother.  Of course we put sunscreen on Shelby and Joey, but I didn't bother with Lucy because I was holding her under the canopy all day.  Right before we left I noticed her arm was pink and I asked Jeremy if he thought it was sunburned or if it was just from the way she'd been laying on me.  By the time we got home the sunburn had sunk in and her cute, chubby cheeks and arms are now pink.  Luckily it isn't bad, but I still feel bad.
