Big Summer 2015 Recap

This summer was pretty great.  The girls are all at pretty great ages, which made it so much easier to be able to do things.  With younger babies, sometimes it's hard to do all the things you want to do (i.e. Swim!  I've never had a baby that liked to just float in the pool.), so now that Lucy is a bit older it seemed like we were able to get a ton done.  Here's a quick recap of all we did:

-Kicked off the summer with a week-long slumber party with cousin Claire
-Participated in 3 different week-long camps with friends (Shelby and Joey)
-Turned 33 (me)
-Turned 8 (Shelby)
-Got baptized (Shelby)
-Had family come stay with us
-Weekend trip to Austin
-15 Year Anniversary
-Anniversary trip to NYC
-Lots of swimming at our neighborhood pool
-Lots of swimming at grandma and grandpa's pool
-Learned how to swim! (Joey)
-Learned to dive for rings (Joey)
-Potty trained (Lucy)
-Sleepovers with grandma and grandpa (and cousins!)

I feel like there is a lot more in between all that that I am forgetting.  To end the summer we took the girls to Ft. Lauderdale and had an awesome time at the beach.  It was really the best way to cap off our summer of fun.

Joey and Lucy were excited to see the beach from the plane.
There is a picture of me when I was a baby that this so reminds me of!  I need to get a side by side.

Joey had been asking non-stop why there weren't any coconuts in the trees.  Then one morning, as I was running along the beach, I just happened to find one!

Later that day the girls found another coconut washed up on the beach.

Yummy burgers from Charm City Burger.

We got home and did some last minute cleaning and prepping for school.  Last night Jeremy gave the girls blessings and we laid out school clothes.  I got up even earlier than my usual this morning so I could get my run in, then we all got ready, took pictures, and headed out the door.  I have heard great things about Shelby's teacher this year, so we are looking forward to a much smoother year (though Shelby was never really that impacted by her teacher, I just didn't gel with her) this year.  She has a few friends from last year in her class, as well as one of her friends from church.  She is most excited about having a locker this year.  Joey went right in an got to work playing with her play-doh.  Basically she wanted me to leave and quit taking pictures so she could concentrate on it.  Haha!  Joey's teacher also seems wonderful and we are looking forward to an awesome year!
