Well, I survived last week without Jeremy! Haha! Actually, the girls were really well behaved and I even had two extra kids on two of the nights he was gone. Since the girls were so well behaved, I didn't mind too much when Shelby put me on the spot and asked me in front of her friends if she could have a pajama party on Friday night. (We don't really do sleepovers, so a pajama party is our alternative for that.) So 7 pm on Friday night rolls around and there are 5 little girls in pj's jumping up and down in the living room and singing along to the Justin Bieber movie. It was so funny.
On Saturday I planted the garden. Last year I think I planted too late, so I planted about a month earlier this year. Hopefully it wasn't too early. We planted a lot more this year- grapes, raspberries, two kinds of tomatoes, two kids of bell peppers, jalapenos, tomatillos, watermelon, corn, artichokes, peas, and zucchini. I still need to plant all of the herbs, but I ran out of room! I am so excited to see what we can get to grow!
Funny story from this morning (Please note that I am not trying to be vulgar, but it was pretty funny): We have never really told Shelby the proper names for her private areas. We say "front booty" and "back booty". I don't know why. It's just what we've said. So we decided that since she is at school now, playing with friends, in gymnastics, etc. that we need to tell her the correct names so that if other kids or adults say anything to her, she will know what they are talking about and can tell us about it. So this morning she was getting ready for church and I said, "Sooooo, Shelby, you know how we call this your front booty? Well that's not really the name, that's just a nickname we use. It is actually called a vagina". She had a puzzled look on her face and said, "Vagina?! Is that the Spanish word for it?!" Hahahahahaha! I laughed so hard.
After church we had bbq beef sandwiches, cole slaw, corn salad, and sopapilla cheesecake for dessert. Mmmm. Seriously, Jeremy teases me about Pinterest but it has provided us with some pretty tasty dinner inspirations, so he can tease all he wants. After dinner we went outside and played while Jeremy planted a new tree (we'll see if we can keep this one alive). It's a Bradford Pear. We only chose it because it looked pretty.
Off to bed now to prepare for the coming week....Jeremy turns 30 this week!

I think those trees are pretty! And I'm inspired by your garden. Not enough to do my own. But I did think about it more since you did yours! Yum!!
And shel...wow, she is really good at Spanish!
Yeah we wanna plant some stuff... so far not happening, but i feel like it's too cold. But I think we really are going to do some herbs, and if those go well then next year we will do a small scale of a garden. I would love butterbeans, and tomatoes, We need to chat so I can get how you do yours. Some of what you are planting sounds great!
And as for the front booty back booty... that's what we have always called it with Ava, b/c a LONG time ago I was asking my friend Lindsey what did she tell Delaney and then Holly, and she told me that and that's what we told Ava. Every once in a while I will tell her what it's actually called but she forgets right away. I have to say Shelby's response is PRICELESS and I hope you never forget that to tell her when she is older b/c that is the funniest thing I have ever heard in teaching a kid the proper names. HILLARIOUS!
