Family Time

Things can get so busy during the week- shopping, cleaning, etc.- that we try to always do something fun together as a family on Saturday. It doesn't have to be anything where we go spend tons of money. It can be a day at the park, or swimming in the pool, but something where we are focused on spending time together as opposed to running errands or cleaning the house while in the presence of each other. Know what I mean?

Last Saturday we decided to take Shelby to her first movie. I kept telling Jeremy, "I guarantee you, she isn't going to make it through the movie. Just watch." Boy did she make me eat my words! We decided to catch the matinee for "Up!". She loved it! She sat so still through the entire movie. It was cute when she would reach over and grab some "pa-kern" from Jeremy. The movie was so cute. There were some sad parts, and a couple parts where Shelby got concerned that someone was getting hurt, but it really was a good, fun movie.


It wouldn't be a picture of me if my eyes weren't squinty!


After a nap at home, we decided to head across the street and watch the polo match. We know nothing about polo, but we are always up for new experiences and we thought Shelby would love watching the horses. The polo club recently built some really nice stands for watching the matches, but the thing to do is tailgate. Everyone backs their cars to the field and brings food, and they just hang out and have a good time. It's all very cute, and it's even topped off with a traditional divot stomp.
