Sunday Picnic

Today we had stake conference. Since it was three stakes combined, it was held at the University of North Texas in Denton, about 30 minutes away. We knew it was going to be nice weather, and that we would be starving after church, so we packed a picnic. We intended to have the picnic by a nearby lake, but somehow managed to get lost, so we ended up just going to the park down the street from us. It was beautiful outside. Shelby loved that the ducks waddled right up to our blanket when we fed them.

P.S. In case you are wondering, yes, that is cow's milk in her bottle. I know you are not supposed to give it to babies until they are 1, but my sister's pediatrician said it was fine. My mom gave it to my brother when he was 2 months old (she didn't know any better), and he was fine. Shelby DETESTS formula, so I tried the milk on Friday. She instantly took the bottle and gulped it down. We have been paying close attention to see if she has any upset stomachs, and she seems to be doing just fine.

Hey, don't even worry about the milk thing- she's obviously fine! I know a Mom who's baby spit up really bad and almost choked when she kept trying to do the 'right' thing and put her baby to sleep on her back. She slept a million times better on her stomach and never choked again. Not every baby fits into the general 'one size fits all' mentality. That's when Mom truly knows best. How lovely that you got to have a picnic! I haven't been on one in ages- I think that will be just the request I'll make for Mother's day!
