You know those big ketchup pumps at fast food places? Ever wonder how long the ketchup has been sitting in there? Tonight we decided to check out a burger joint close by the house since we were rushing around, going to a bazillion different stores looking for bottles. Anyway, the burger was ok...Jeremy says it was not even comparable to Ward's...and the fries were pretty good- sprinkled with their own "famous" seasoned salt. I was eating the fries with my mayonnaise and mustard mix, something I haven't done since high school but decided to rekindle tonight, when I decided to convert to ketchup for the last few fries. I dipped one in and took a bite. Tasted a bit off, but I thought maybe it was a bad fry- you know how some taste like they were fried in bad oil? So then I got a big fry, and took a big 'ol dip in the ketchup. Instantly I could taste the vomit in my mouth. I grabbed a napkin and spit it out. Seriously, the ketchup tasted like toilet bowl cleaner. I asked Jeremy if his was bad, and he said his was fine, but that he'd gotten them from two different pumps. Ugh. So gross. That really is gross. I hate it when you get funny tasting ketchup or syrupless soda (taking a bug swig of carbonated water without the syrup seriously makes me want to gag). I'm surprised that a burger joint wouldn't refresh or go through their kethup supply faster. Yuck.

oh good gracious, i never thought about that! and i'm pretty paranoid about stuff like that. I always wonder about the insides of the ice makers or the fountain drink machines. I've had a similar experience with a soda machine drink tasting icky. Sorry if this comment gives you one more thing to worry about!
