So, yep, we bought a new car. I AM SO RELIEVED. I know it sounds dumb that a car can bring such happiness, but seriously, we have been a much happier family since buying it. I never thought I could love a minivan so much. No more kids touching each other or kicking our seats, no more stroller crushing Shelby at every turn, and no more fighting with opening doors while trying to get Joey in while holding a car seat. It is amazing. Plus, we can watch Princess and the Popstar in the front right along with Joey in the back while we wait in the car line to get Shelby. Haha!
So Lucy, or "Juicy" as Joey likes to call her, had some...intestinal issues last week. Not to get too much into it but we basically had to check her diapers all week. That's always fun. Then Sunday morning she was running a low fever and she was very lethargic all day. I could barely wake her up to nurse her and when she did it was only about 5 minutes before she was out again. Around 9 pm I took her temp again and it was at 101.4. I called the pediatrician and he told me to bring her in to the ER. They ran all kinds of tests - urine sample (via catheter), blood tests (via IV), and a spinal tap. They had to hold her in the same crouching position you have to get in when you have an epidural. It was so hard to watch but I knew it was necessary to find out what was going on. It ended up that she has a UTI. So now she has to have a Voiding Cystourethrogram (VCUG) in a couple weeks. Basically it is when they insert dye and do an x-ray to make sure all the parts are connected and functioning properly. I am worried that the tech that did Lucy's ultrasound after she was born missed something and that there actually is something wrong with her kidneys. So we are doing lots of praying that she is ok.

Aside from all that we are trying to take advantage of my time off and are trying to spend some QT with Joey during the day. Jeremy had a few lunches reschedule on him this week, so we hopped in the car and had lunch with him those days. I think Joey felt special since Lucy was asleep, Shelby was at school, and all the attention was on her.
Speaking of Shelby, I love that she is learning how to write. She spends most of her free time at home writing songs or notes to us. Here is a song Jeremy found in her room:
"I love you and you love me.
We were in love, but now we are not,
so we don't know where this is going."
And here is a note she wrote to me the other day:
"I love you but you are my best mom ever. Best.
You smell like a blossom and you are my mom.
I love you."
