Last Friday night we went to the Grouplove/Young the Giant concert. It. Was. Awesome. I was a little apprehensive because it was at a bar. I thought, "Oh great, it is bad enough not having control over people next to you smoking at large venue concerts- how's it going to be when we are couped up in a bar with tons of people"? BUT, because it was an all ages show there were a lot of teeny boppers there, so there was actually very little smoking and drinking going on. Grouplove did a great job, and though I wasn't a huge YtG fan before (just because I hadn't heard much of their music), I thought they did great and I am definitely into their music now. I only took one picture while there, but Jeremy did take some video and posted it to YouTube. I am too lazy to link it.
Because we are going to spend the majority of the day in the car tomorrow, we decided to dvr conference and do some fun outdoor activities with the girls today. So we got up bright and early and headed over to the Oak Point Spring Fest. (All of my pictures suck. I guess I couldn't tell in the light that my pictures were overexposed. I thought I had adjusted the settings correctly, but evidently not. One of these days I really will take a class.)
Oh! By the way...Joey's hair is not wet in these pictures. She SMOTHERED herself in vaseline last night. We washed her hair with baby powder and Dawn dish soap three times and it was still nasty. Tonight we tried peanut butter and that actually helped it, so we might be back on the road to normal soon.

| Joey spotted the Easter Bunny as soon as we walked up and would not take her eyes off him. |
 |
| Not a great picture of Shelby, but I was trying to get a shot of her shirt. |
 |
| Can I just say how proud I am of Shelby? This is her surrounded by the swarm of greedy kids. Actually, I shouldn't call them greedy. It's not their fault. Their parents were coaching them prior to the egg hunt saying things like, "Go fast, get as many as you can! Fill that basket to the top!". I don't know, I just found that totally off-putting. Kind of like Black Friday. Anyway, Shelby was so polite, never shoved anyone out of the way, and if she saw anyone going for the same egg- even if she was closer- she would give it to them. |
 |
| In Oak Point, at the end of the egg hunt, you have to open all the eggs, get your candy, and give the eggs back so they can reuse them next year. We're a small town. |
After the egg hunt we tried out Velvet Taco in Dallas. Mmmmm. It was goooooooood. Then it was off to the Arboretum to walk off some of the food.

| These Azaleas reminded us of Mamaw, so we had to get a picture. |
I love living in a small town so that we can do the small town things like the Oak Point Spring Fest, but close enough to a larger city so that we can enjoy awesome restaurants and fun things to do. We were talking about it today and Jeremy was telling me the places he wouldn't mind living. They were ok, but when I was thinking about it I really thought about how much I have liked living here. Not sure how long that feeling will last (ask me again in July when it is 110 degrees), but for now, I am pretty happy.
