7 Months

Joey turned 7 months old last Sunday. I cannot believe what a big girl she already is. She has been army crawling since 5 months. She has been getting up on all fours for a little over a month now, and will rock back and forth, then take one or two "steps" before she gets back on her belly and army crawls some more. She really is pretty quick and I am going to have to put a baby gate at the top of the stairs soon.

Joey loves to give "fives". She will also clap on demand. I love when she claps! She get s huge, gummy smile on her face and looks at you for approval. So cute! She is also eating a lot more solid foods now. She really loves her fruit puffs, mainly I think because she can feed herself. Of the baby food she's had, she definitely loves the sweet corn casserole the best.



Joey can say "mama" and "dada" (though she still usually only says "mama" when she is upset), and when asked where one of us is, she will look around the room until she spots us and then she'll stop and smile.

Joey is not a great napper. On good days she will nap for about 30 minutes. On very rare occasions she will take an hour long nap. I know this is odd for a 7 month old. She should be taking at least two good naps during the day. But, she is not fussy, and she sleeps from 8 pm to 7:30-8 am every night, so I am fine with it.

Now that Joey is older and much more interactive, she and Shelby have been playing together a lot more. Joey LOVES Shelby. If she hears her in the other room she will start crawling towards her, and then she instantly gets a smile on her face when she finally sees her. Yesterday they played in here (the office) together for a good 2 hours. On the way to the grocery store last night, Shelby would just call out Joey's name and Joey would laugh and laugh. They did this over and over the entire way to the store. I can't wait til Joey is walking and talking and they can run around together, play dress up, have hot cocoa parties, etc.
