Sports

Sometimes Jeremy's job has some sweet perks that we all get to enjoy. He's gotten two tv's, tickets to "The Nutcracker", won numerous Visa gift cards, etc. Thursday he scored some sweet tickets to the Rough Riders game. We got some VIP treatment and got to visit the JCPenneys club before the game, and we got all the food and drinks we wanted during the game. We were sitting in the fourth row, directly behind home plate. It wasn't like it was tickets to the Rangers or the Cowboys or anything, but it was a sweet deal nonetheless.

Let's ignore how I look in the picture below and focus on Joey. See what she's doing? She's drinking a bottle! It was the first time I had tried pumping and giving her one, and she took it like a champ. Let's be honest- the girl just wants to eat. She doesn't care how she gets it. This is good news for us, because it means we can start having date nights and I don't have to be too worried about leaving her with a babysitter. (Shelby would take a bottle, but there was a whole bounce-while-the-blow-dryer-is-on routine you had to go through to get her to take it.)

Saturday was Shelby's first day of gymnastics at Excite. We tried out Little Gym and she was just ALL OVER THE PLACE. The teacher had to call in someone just to chase after Shelby. I know part of it was that it was her first time, but I felt like part of it was all the singing and make-believe. I think it was too much for Shelby and she lost interest. So we decided to try out Excite, where it is just straight gymnastics. She did much better this time. She tried to run over to some of the equipment a couple of times, but for the most part she did great. There are three teachers for her group, so there is always someone to help. It was SO CUTE to watch her in her leotard with all the other little girls. I really wanted to run out there with her and tumble, but Jeremy quickly reminded me that the last time I did that I hurt my wrist (that I fractured in college). Shelby showed me her back bend today. I am excited to see how she progresses in the next few months! Maybe one day she'll even train here.

With football starting up soon, I am sure we'll be getting all the sports talk we can handle around here. Joey already has her Ole Miss bib ready so she can cheer on the Rebels with Daddy and Shelby. Just as long as her first word is Mama and not Hotty Toddy, that's fine by me.

Look at that hair! Love it. And congrats on the bottle. It opens up a world of possibilities, doesn't it?

Aw, Shelby looks so cute in her leotard! I wish I could find a good gymnastics class for Claire around here.

Shelby is adorable and looks so excited to be in her leotard. I just signed Joc up for ballet...classes start in a couple of weeks...she is excited but she might get kicked out because I am not sure she will be able to stay on task...keep us posted on the gymnastics!
