Mother's Day

Today was a great Mother's Day. I have a wonderful husband and two adorable little girls. Lots to be thankful for. After church, Jeremy took Shelby outside and I was able to take a 3 hour nap with Joey, even though Jeremy was the one that was up til 2 am with Joey. After that he grilled steaks and made yummy cheesy mashed potatoes. Then he did the dishes and cleaned up. Then we just had some nice family time together while the missionaries were here making their calls to their families.

Some quick updates on the girls:

Joey is doing great. She is sleeping great at night, sometimes 7 hours at a time. The past two nights she hasn't wanted to go to sleep until late, but once she was asleep, she slept for a long time. She is a happy baby, and only lets out a tiny cry if she gets super hungry and I don't feed her fast enough. She is just like Shelby was in that she eats really well and I can tell she is gaining weight quickly. She is a pretty happy baby, and we are so thankful to have her in our family.

Shelby is adjusting to life as a big sister. She loves Joey so much and wants to hold her and touch her all the time. She has had some issues sharing me with Joey, but I think that is getting better. The other day Shelby was watching the episode of Clifford where they talk about what they are going to be when they grow up. I asked Shelby what she was going to be when she grows up. When we've asked her this before she has responded with, "I'm going to play football for Ole Miss!". This time she told me she wanted to be a teacher, but after a minute she turned around and said, "No, I'm going to be a mommy like you!". I asked her if she was going to have babies and she said, "Yep, I'm going to have two babies in my tummy and then I'm going to squirt them out!".
